Why we created Myota?

The World Health Organisation states that 90% of adults don't consume enough fibre. Fibre is important because without it, our gut microbiome (the good bacteria) is unable to produce healthy molecules (known as 'short-chain-fatty-acids', or 'SCFAs' for short) that help fight disease and allow our bodies to function.

After years of research into the gut microbiome, we discovered that different types of gut bacteria produce different amounts of these healthy molecules ('SCFAs' ) depending on the fibre we consume.

This allowed us to create tailored fibre mixes that maximise the production of SCFA's in your gut, which will help you to;
Reduce intestinal inflammation (which has been linked to depression, anxiety and diabetes).

I am using my personalised Myota for over 2 months now. I didn't have huge problems but even then I feel the difference in terms of relaxed bowel movement. Overall very nice experience
I find the fibers extremely helpful with my digestion. I hardly ever suffer from any constipation or diarrhea anymore, a condition which occurred frequently before. The fibers taste nice although I don’t like that it doesn’t resolve that easily. It would be also nicer if there were different products to choose from such as cookies or ice cream.

What are myota fibres?
We are a science-backed gut health company who produce dietary fibre mixes tailored to your gut health needs. Our fibres are designed to improve the health of your gut microbiome (the trillions of good bacteria residing in our gut), and increase the production of beneficial metabolites called short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). Who is myota for?
Myota fibres are perfect for those trying to improve gut health and reduce common digestive issues like constipation, bloating, and diarrhoea. We also specialise in creating personalised fibre mixes for people with more complicated gut conditions, like inflammatory bowel disease, to help restore and maintain low levels of inflammation.
Who are the scientists behind myota?
Myota fibres were developed by our two cofounders who hold PhDs in computational biology (MIT and ETH Zurich), and are specialists in the microbiome field.
How do I use my myota fibre mix?
There are many ways myota fibres can be consumed. Our fibre can be added to any of your favourite drinks and meals, including cereal, muesli, soups, smoothies, or yoghurt. Our chocolate and matcha flavours can be dissolved into water or milk, and served as a hot or cold beverage. Our nutritionists are always on hand to provide you with creative suggestions and recipes to suit your lifestyle.
Is there a recommended daily amount?
At myota, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Our recommendation is to start with 10g per day (about 1 tablespoon), and adjust according to how you respond. We are always on stand-by to help you find the perfect balance.
What are myota fibres free from?
Myota fibres are vegetarian and gluten free. Most of our fibres are lactose free – make sure you fill out the questionnaire to ensure that you are matched with the appropriate fibre mix for your dietary requirements.
What ingredients are in myota fibres?
Our fibres are sourced from natural ingredients and are simply purified forms of the fibres you find in fruits, vegetables, and grains. Myota fibres are powders which means they can be easily dissolved into food and beverages. The specific types and quantities of fibre included in your mix will vary based on which fibre mix is assigned to you.
What flavours are available?
Myota fibres are currently available in original (unflavoured), chocolate, and matcha.
Why is there a nutrition appointment included?
As part of your subscription, we offer a complementary video call with our in-house dietitian and nutritionist team. At this appointment, you have the opportunity to learn more about myota fibres and ask any additional questions you may have, including how to incorporate them in your current diet.
Can I take myota fibres if I'm on medication?
Myota fibres are made from real food, so you won’t need to make any changes to how you normally take your medications.
Can I take myota fibres if I'm pregnant, breastfeeding or on my period?
Myota fibres are safe to consume when pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you are on your period. In fact, we actively recommend our fibre mixes to relieve common digestive symptoms associated with women’s health, including constipation, diarrhoea and bloating.
How do I purchase myota fibres?
We offer a 12-month subscription, a rolling monthly subscription, or a one-off purchase. For both subscription options, we ship your fibre mixes every 30 days. For the rolling subscription, you can pause or cancel at any time. If you want to give the product a try before starting a subscription, then a one-off purchase is for you. You'll get one delivery with a month's supply of fibre.
